I purchased a walking foot. 2 questions. Is it suppose to cover a bigger area than the feed dogs and is it suppose to be at this angle opposed to being "square with things"
The plastic feed dog part of the walking foot kind of lines up with the metal feed dogs at an angle on left side and the feed dogs on the right side is covered by the bottom metal part of the walking foot (didn't think to get a picture of this but can if I need to)
Just wondering if I ordered the wrong walking foot or if something isn't right. The screw is tightened that is holding the walking foot on it just sits at a weird angle.
Thanks in advance,
Carol

Carol, it does not look right. My walking foot lines up straight. Did you try taking it off and putting it on again, I think something is wrong. Lace

Thanks Lace I will try that. I don't think it looks right either.

The little short arm on the right side of the walking foot goes over the needle tightening screw also. Ans should sit straight. Yours looks crooked.

Mine would look crooked like that if I didn't screw it on right. The attachment screws onto the shaft with a 'u' shape, and it's easy to screw it on without the 'u' being completely in place around the shaft. Sorry, this is as clear as mud. I know what I mean, but I doubt anyone else will.

went back and tried again it's not as crooked as it was before but still not "square" here are a few more pictures

Thanks for the feed back. open to more information or tips. Not sure if I should send it back. Figured if it fit low shank machine it would screw on and be good to go. I did purchase the metal area that screws on because I had read where the plastic ones tend to be tightened to tight and can break.

Something is just not right there. Maybe you got a defective one. I would send it back.

It still looks a little crooked. Do you have it in the screw straight? If so then can you return it for an axchange?

Maride 03-25-2010 06:14 PM

Did you sew anything with it?

CarolLady 03-25-2010 06:34 PM

Yes in the first picture I sewed the yellow and purple material together with batting and the guide was not in a straight line when I was trying to following the first line. I believe in the first picture I posted you might be able to see this a little bit.
I purchased it through ebay and have emailed the person to see if they can give me any other ideas or their return policy :o(

I also purchased a free motion foot and it doesn't seem to be working right either probably an operator error.
Is there a trick to screwing the free motion foot on to get the spring on it to engage (probably not the right word to use) with the needle. (no instructions were sent with it)
Thanks again for all the feed back.
