Does anyone know if this is a featherweight?

No, I think it might be a model 99. Do you have the serial number. If so, you can like it up on the Singer website.

No. Featherweights are portables with a flip up platform, kind of like a free arm. They fit in a little box that looks hardly larger than a cosmetic case, actually more like the record boxes we had when I was a teenager to tote our favorite 45s to friend's homes so we could learn the new dance steps.

I have a 201-2. It looks the same and I do not know if it is a feather weight. So if someone wants to answer the 1st q
then maybe someone can answer mine. Thanks.

It is probably a 99 which is a 3/4 size machine. But Featherweights are NOT marked "featherweight", They say Singer on the light which is on the front of the machine. And they are smaller than a 99, and have a fold down bed on the left side. Lots of pictures of them on this site, just do a search with the option at the top of the page here.

It's not a FW, but you will be able to find out easily enough by searching out the serial number that is listed on your machine in the front by the Singer emblem. Go to Singer serial numbers (goggle it) and search down the list :)
