Getting ready to retire and decided to try my hand at quilting. I've made a couple of basic rag bags and I'm working on a table runner for a wedding gift in June.

Can someone suggest a very detailed, very newbie Web site on how to square a table runner before adding the binding.

The directions say........"make sure your 1/4 mark lines up with the point of the center square so you don't cut off your point when you sew on the binding"

I have no idea what they are talking about........

Any help will be so appreciated

Well, THAT was not helpful. Take your long ruler and line it up with the ends of your points on the 1/4" mark, prepare to trim, hesitate. Not required, but I always do. Make sure there is at least 1/4 inch of "free space" after your points when you trim, that way you will not hack off the points. I hope this helps.

Oh and welcome, by the way.
