She is nice and slender, but I have no idea what she is, other then an old Singer. I was looking for a featherweight, which I did find, but it was not priced in my budget. Then I found this one and thought she was cute, so I bought her. Got her for only 45 bucks. Not sure if that is good, but she seems complete, I hope.
So, I need a little help. I have been researching and at first I thought she was a 66, but now I am not sure. She is electric and comes in one of those wood, mailbox type cases. She needs a bit of cleaning, but is not dinged up at all. The motor on the back is different. It has like a round dome type cover, and not very big. i have not plugged it in yet, the cord is a little frayed. The cord has a spot in the back where it plugs in. Oh and there is no foot pedal, it does have a knee thing though. I took some pictures, but they are not too good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i need to know her identity before I name her and get stuff for her. |

Go to Vintage sewing machine shop on this board and Billy can help you with your old treasure. She will be a nice one when cleaned up. Glenn

It looks like a 15K110 to me...but then again, I've been wrong before! ;)

Okay I am here!!!
You are the proud owner of a Singer Model 101. I do have one question is it aluminum? I cant really tell from the photos you submitted. You might have to use a magnet on the machine to find out if it is. You have a quite rare (in Singers terms) sewing machine, only 230,475 machines made from 1920 to 1932 so it only had a 12 year run. ;) And that's why we have our Billy!
Tell me what identifies the machine as a 101 Billy? I'm NOT arguing, just want to know what you looked at and what told you! |
That's what I love about this site...ask a question. post some pics and Bob's your uncle (Billy actually!).
Nice find and shouldn't take too much to have her humming along. May you have many happy hours together. |
Charlee the easiest way for me to know at a quick glance is the Bobbin plate, it being a high arm, the bed is removable to service the parts under it, and the dial indicator.
Also it is self oiling with a wick system under the bed. It was a domestic industrial as such as far as the design. Billy |
She is a beauty.
