A pair of robins build their nest in our yard every year. Don't know if it's the same pair, but this is the second time they have built in this spot. Every time we take out the trash she has to fly into the trees.
One year we got to watch her teach the fledglings to fly. Thought I'd share this because of what she used.

Look at what she used to make it soft.

This probably is'nt the greatest place to build a nest

We had one on our porch light right next to the door. Funny that she made the nest in the spring - on top of our Christmas wreath! Once there were eggs - no way was my dh taking that down. We got to watch 2 of the 4 baby's fly the nest. And every time someone walked in or out that door - they got bird dive bombed!

Awww, isn't that sweet??? :D I wonder if the quilter put this stuff out on purpose or the bird took it out of the trash?

I would never get any work done for watching the birds and nature.

We had one do the same thing on our front door in the weath so no one was allowed to go out or come in that door until mamma flew away with her chicks.

We have a Robin that just built her nest in the eave of our deck. Trouble is it is right in the corner of where we BBQ/grill, sit out and watch the mountains, and enjoy the outside.
Real trouble is that we are having new doors put on the deck in the next two weeks (or so) Just 5 feet from her nest!!!!
How long does it take from nest to babies flying away! We may need to post pone the new door installation.
HELP.

That is so cute. I would spend all day watching them. I'm sure there was a quilter involved with this nest.
