My friend just lost her home to a fire in January. Just recently they were going through some boxes from the garage that were not damaged and she found several hankies that her husband's grandmother left. She is not a real creative person and wondered what she could do with them to hand them down to her kids and their wives. They are at least 75 years old (the hankies, not the kids). Any suggestions from you creative people out there?

She could use them to make the fronts of a pillow. Or frame them to hang on a wall.

I have a couple of friends who have used them as window toppers...simple and quite charming!

I made this pillow with some hankies that someone gave to me. It's not hard. Just pick a focus, then frame outwards with corners.

That is a really pretty pillow, thanks for the photo.

you're welcome. The hardest part for me was cutting into the hankies.

I did let my sister make an angel out of one--will try to remember to take a pic and post. |
applique each one to a square of fabric then combine them into quilts for each of the kids...
