I have tried the tube quilt blocks before, but messed them up. At the quilt show a couple of weeks ago I bought the triangle ruler. Messed it up at firs too (just consider me a slow learner - my knitting is proof of that!).
So Sunday I decided to try again. After all, its the only way to learn. So I gave it another shot. Messed up one or 2 then got the rest right. Waaahooo! :) So I used 3 of the four I made and decided to try a tote. I'm not very good at linings so that took a little work. But it turned out ok I think. No pattern. I've kinda made my own stuff up ever since I was a teen and used to sew things by hand from old jeans or scraps of fabric I could snag from my mom. I practiced my fmq on this, and also practiced putting a stencil on and trying to fmq over the pattern. I'm getting better (I think) but I need tons more practice. Thanks for looking. Great job, admire your spirit to go at it again. I procrastinate too much..

I have just about finished my tube quilt and loved it. I also messed up in the beginning. But love what you did without a pattern. Wish I had that talent.
Really nice quilting too. |
I think you have done a great job. I would love to take that shopping (for more fabric of course!)

Oh gosh - I just finished putting up all the photos and all these replies already! Thanks everyone! :)

I'm going to make another - the next will be 2 blocks across so it's wider and not so deep. :)
