I'm a native New Jerseyite, but currently live in Wisconsin. When I visit the family, I always stop at Budding Star Quilts, on Route 22 in Lebanon, NJ. I'm not sure exactly where you are coming from in NJ, but I HAVE noticed the quilt shops are few and far between out there!

If you go to hobby lobby in Easton there's a LQS with a mile or two that called At Piece Quiltery. There is also Allentown Sewing Machine Outlet. And a little further north in Stroudsburg there is the American Ribbon Outlet and Pocono Sew & Vac.

If you plan on going to any of them let me know and I'll see if I can meet you there!

I lived in NJ for almost all of my life. Sorry to say that quilt shops are few and far between. I was lucky that I lived near NY border, as two shops opened up that were pretty close by. You would think that with such a densely populated state, there would be more shops, but maybe the quilting "hobby" really hasn't caught on, or more likely, the cost of running a shop in NJ/NY is prohibitive. I moved south, and the ultimate irony is that there aren't many shops here either! I rely on the big quilt shows....I always go to the Mid-Atlantic show in Virginia.

there aren't many around up north anymore. I go to Fabricland on 22, Fabric Warehouse (Around the corner from me in Rahway - but it's not really a quilt store - it's more for upholstery/drapes, but they carry yardage of Timeless Treasures stuff), JoAnn's.

There is a nice quilt store in Monmouth County, but their hours don't work with my work schedule so I can only get there once a year or so, and there's supposedly a couple of good ones down in South Jersey, but I haven't been to them.

There were some great ones in Berkley Heights and Scotch Plains, but they've been closed for a good while now.

My friends go to Piecefull Choices on Rte 94 in Vernon. It is close to Rte 23. I wish we had fabric stores in Passaic County.

Pieceful Choices on Rt 94 in Vernon
Acme Fabrics in Pecquanock
The Aardvark on Rt 53 in Morris Knolls
They are not huge shops, but all are wonderful and friendly, helpful people work there.
