I am new to Quilting Board. I love the helpful hints and the Web Sites. I am a grandmother of two fine boys. My oldest one made me a pattern and name it Cat Eyes. It is very nice. I am having a diffcult time learning measurements. Does anyone have a beginner instructions on how to measure 12" Blocks? He gave me measurements but my block wound up to be 10" block. It has squares and triangles. |
I'm not very good at measurements either. But welcome.

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here. Post a pic of the block and maybe someone can draw it up in EQ and get better measurements.

Welcome from Wisconsin!

Hello and welcome from Louisiana!!! If your block had several seams, it may have "shrunk" because your seams were too wide or the pieces were cut too small.

Hello and welcome from Ontario. Sometimes piece sizes are listed without seam allowances and you need to add them before you cut. Perhaps that is what happened.
