I'm surfing to find a free pattern, so far no luck

Karen,
Did you ever find a pattern? I just love the look and it looks like it would be simple to make.

If you go to this site and print off the directions, it is the same thing. You already know that they use a 2 1/2" strip, sewn together and stuffed with a 1 3/4" piece of something like Timtex which you can buy in the roll if you want to pay $11.95 for 10'. Just pin or clip your binding to the edge and sew down, then sew over on the other side, just like binding a quilt.

Hello. I made one of these baskets today. It was not bad inserting the Craf-Tex into the 22" and 18" fabric tubes, but it was VERY difficult to insert the Craf-Tex into the three 32" tubes!!! I also found it very difficult to keep the woven strips tightly next to each other. I kept jabbing myself with pins. I finally got the weaving done, and basted around the top to keep the edges together. The basket is thick and stiff, and it was difficult to baste around the top edge, even with the free arm. When I sewed the binding on, this was extremely difficult. I sewed the binding to the inside first, then flipped it over and sewed on the outside close to the seam, but it was very, very difficult to do this. The basket did turn out pretty. I can try to post a picture here, but I am not good at all this technology stuff. Hope the picture turns out! https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui....0&disp=thd&zw
