I just got 2 different fabrics that I LOVE from Joanns. Yes, on sale, but not a very good one. Still pretty much for me to spend on just 6 yards. I got 3 yards of each.
What is a good quick pattern to show off 2 different coordinating fabrics? I could probably find another - maybe some kind of background fabric from my statch if need be. I just don't want to do plain squares. Something more exciting but not too difficult. Any suggestions?? |
A rail fence, D9P, snowball, Square in a Square...
maybe look at http://www.quilterscache.com and look at beginner blocks in two colors :D:D:D |

Have you seen Eleanor Burn's Day and Night quilt pattern? I believe you can use as few as 2 contrasting fabrics to make this easy pattern. Check it out on Connecting Threads:

The Day and Night pattern book has examples of how to make some quilts with just 2,3 or even 4 fabrics. Eleanor uses her typical strip-piecing method that makes the quilt go together quickly, I have been looking to see if I could find you a picture of the 2 fabric version and I think this link at Amazon.com will take you to the page that shows the picture of the book. If you click on the picture of the book another page will come up and if you click on the "SEE LARGER IMAGE button, and click the picture on the right it should be a 2 fabric quilt. Good luck! http://www.amazon.com/Day-Night-Quil...8212178&sr=8-1

This is what I came up with. Not that I would say I created this - but this was the first time I spent time playing with the quilt software. It was fun . . I am going to think about getting the Quilt Design Wizard. I'm no where ready for EQ7 :)
