This is my latest top, which I am ready to begin quilting. I don't have a longarm, but I don't want to just quilt in the ditch, which I often do. I purchased a roll of a stick on pattern to quilt through, sort of a meandering pattern, but have never tried this kind of product. Any advice, if I try it? (I would try it on some other samples first.) What kind of thread should I use, since there are so many colors in the quilt? Or, any other quilting ideas out there?? Unfortunately, the quilting is not my fav part, but I like to finish everything myself.

don't know about design but I would use a cream color thread
after a second look maybe a taupe thread, it's a bit darker

This is lovely and I think a free motion meander on this would be fine as to only add texture but not take away from the piecing.

Maybe a rainbow varigated thread?

That is very pretty! A meander in a varigated rainbow sounds lucious!

Wow!! That is great! And very ambitious. I would like to see a circular design in the center of each square. I love quilting on my sewing machine, with the embroidery hoop. Don't know if you have that on your machine. But with the geometric designs, I think something swirly or flowy would be good, and with a neutral thread. A beige or taupe very often blends and picks up the colors of what it is on, while still showing off the stitching. Good luck! And be sure to show us a picture when it is finished.

You could maybe do a spiral inside each "diamond". As for thread, that's always tough for me to decide. I like brighter colors, even for thread. Depends though on how confident you are in your quilting. ;-) A yellow/gold or turquoise might work.

I really like this quilt -- it's so colorful, and it looks like you did a super job of matching corners. How are the long thin pieces added ?

I love it. I saw a lot of my fabric in that quilt. It will mean a lot to you. Remember where you got the fabric, reminisce, etc. It is a neat quilt - one that is right up my alley! Edie

OOps! I forgot to mention I go along with the variegated meander. I have a quilt with the vm and it turned out just beautiful. Edie
