I've seen pics of a green Quaker that one of you own. Can you help me with my blue quaker? Lucky always screams!!! What can I do to stop this and get her to talk?

Is he getting enough attention? Does he have plenty of toys?

Birds are fun, but they can certainly behave like 2 year olds...

:)

I had a screamer, too, got him a mate, then I had 2 screamers and a biter!

My neighbors had one, and found out it was their older tv that made their's scream. There was a higher pitch noise the tv made that they couldn't hear that their bird could.

My youngest daughters voice irritates my parrot. He is as good as gold til she comes home. Then he screams. He gets quiet as soon as she goes to bed.

I don't have a Quaker but my birds scream when they are hungry. They also scream the minute smeone comes in my house or I answer the phone and they continue until the person leaves or I hang up the phone. I think they are jealous. Mine also bite, but I found out my cousin's husband is a vet and will trim their claws and wings. Hopefully, I can tame them when I don't have to worry about them flying.

Birds need lots of attention and will scream if they don't get enough. They also get bored easily if their minds are not stimulated. Give him new toys regularly and make sure he gets enough exercise. They love the foraging toys that hold food. Birds are much more high-maintenance than dogs and cats.

I have a blue-crown conure. I hiss at him when he screams and he stops most of the time. If not, I cover half of his cage which he HATES and will sulk (quietly) in the corner.

I have a Quaker and she spends almost the whole day out of her cage, and she doesn't scream (except if I yell at the kids then she copies me LOL). She has her wings clipped but can stil fly quite well so she gets plenty of exercise. She has a perch in the lounge room and her cage in the family room. We had house guests including 2 extra kids during the last 2 weeks and she went to her cage when she needed time out. She follows mainly me but does choose to spend time with other members of the family and has learnt different phrases from all of us. Birds need alot of attention and I agree that they are like a 2 year old, mine can be a brat, but I love her to bits.
When I was growing up we had a cockatoo as a pet and he screamed for attention, he was quiet as a mouse when we brought him in the house.
There is a bird trainer that is supposed to have a lot of success with difficult birds. I have not used his methods but they sound interesting

might be worth having a look.
