What little thing or big thing do you do that would get you arrested by the quilt police.
One of these days I'll be arrested for cruelty to quilts. Since, I use push pins to hang up my quilts and I'm too lazy to put on hanging sleeves. Also, I'll be locked up for poor identification. Just can't get those finishing touches, like a label on the quilt. |
I cut corners, and don't always remember to put my id with the quilt or whatever project I have made.
Most of mine don't have labels either. And they would be horrified by my 1/4 inch seams. They are close but far from perfect. My quilting is rustic. (That's a nice way of saying it needs a lot more practice.) But my quilts are loved and used and that is what counts to me.
I never label my quilts either. The other thing that I am bad for is not clipping all of my threads!!
I dont use a binding! My MIL taught me some fold over method, so I dont know how to bind!
my biggest problem is trying to rush things and then I have to undo it, and cutting threads is another one
I use a single fold binding. I mostly make wall hangings and don't think the binding gets worn.

I'm not the quilt police - I promise - but PLEASE either put on a label or write on the back with a permanent pen. I have some of my grandmother's quilts, an no idea for sure if they really are hers and when she made them. Your family will thank you, especially your grandchildren or great-grandchildren that take up quilting. You never know!
