I am making a fusible wall hanging and had to take a piece off but there is still glue on the background fabric. Is there any way to get it off without ruining the background. I tried heating it and laying another piece of fabric over it and ironing thinking the heat would transfer the glue to the scrap. didn't work. I don't want to put anything on the fabric if there is a chance it could be harmed. Just figured I would ask . I know I cannot be the only person this has happened to.
Thanks

Try doing the reheating several times, just make sure you do not burn the fabrics.

I don't have any idea if this would work or not, but you could try the wax removal method. Lay a paper bag on it and iron it and see if it'll stick to the bag? Its just a thought...

I've never been able to get it completely off, mine looks like a wet spot, good luck but I think you're scr---d :-(

Ok I tried the paper thing and it stuck a little. I got as much as I could off, scraped with little knife, and put the other piece back on. LOL I also covered up the part of the fusible still showing with a Fabricmate pen. Can't see it at all. :-)
Thanks all.

Do you think if you stuck it in the freezer for a while and slowly but gently scraped it off, that it might work?

Don't think there is a way. I done knife scrapping, some came off but not all. Let us know if anything works. Stump

I didn't think about that but will remember it for next time. It's looking ok

IF it has not gone deeply into the fabric, have you tried just moistening it to see if it will dissolve a little?
This is just glue, and may soften up enough to lightly scape it off. I have had it melt into the fibers before and I don't remember if it washed out or not...

Happy Quilting!
