I just bought some $1 fat quarters at WalMart. I am planning on using the FQ for charity quilts so the price was a bonus.
HOWEVER, if you do buy these take the package apart and look at the fabric on the fold. The dog paw prints on a black backgound was a gray at the fold (looked like a bleach streak), so took it back since I was in the store anyway and every one of the same print had the faded area on the fold. I also bought a great purple batik FQ and in the very center of the fold area it was white. They didn't have any more of that batik. I know a $1 isn't much and probably not worth a trip back to WalMart but just suggesting everyone look over the fabric before you buy. They were very nice and let me trade for any FQ (no Receipt)
No one has that much time to kill to take stuff back so buyer beware. Sue

I have purchased some of these also and what I have found out is that some are great quality fabric and some are really cheap fabric so beware of that also.

I wish my walmart would get some fabric---any fabric :( They got rid of it when they went "super". Oh well.... I'm glad you are getting some fabrics!! :)

Check the fold line on ANY fabric for fading.

The fabric can fade in ANY shop.

I wish our two nearby Walmart would at least carry the FQ but they both got rid of all the material also.

The folds have been exposed to light too much is all I can figure out why the light mark is there. The lights never go out at Walmart, it's 24/7 bright lights. I noticed this on some of the bolted fabric where the bolt end faces the light.
