Hello. I will lurk no more as I find that there are a lot of good people here and I want to join in the conversations at times. Quilters are the best people around. My avitar is a quilt that i made recently. Used a layer cake.. Winter by Moda.... and the border is from Hobby Lobby.... I love it. Now I've got to use my stash cause these "designer" fabrics are costly! Thank you all for keeping me company. I have enjoyed all the goings-on and hope to learn something new from everyone!

Welcome bels! Your avatar quilt is very pretty. I've just started using the same fabrics for my blocks in The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt. I love the Winter line and seeing your quilt is very encouraging. Where in Texas are you from? I have lots of family history there.

The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt is a book by Laurie Aaron Hird with instructions for a quilt based on a 1920s magazine contest. There are 111 6" blocks in the quilt. Reading the book is a neat visit back in history.

There is a quilt-along on the Board that just began a few weeks ago. Here's the link to the main thread in case you're interested:

Again, welcome to the Board!

Thanks for the link. Sounds interesting. It'll take me a while to check everything out on this. Actually , it takes me forever to decide what I'm going to do if it has anything to do with quilting! But I love knowing what's out there. Thanks for the warm welcome!
