Hi, I have been checking out all the beautiful quilts, tips and ideas for some time. This is my first posting. I just finished this quilt top today for my niece's new baby boy. I used the easy method for pinwheels from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I used Animal Alphabet fabric/charm pack by Moda. So bright and lively. I loved the method and sooo fast! Now, how should I quilt this? Any ideas? I appreciate all the advice I may get. Thanks!

What is your skill level? Are you wanting to do FMQ or stick to basics?

I have tried FMQ a little and still need practice...Also, with all the seams in this quilt top I am afraid it might be a little jerky.

Personally, I'd do it with circular FMQ of some kind, to match the "circles" in your fabric. but if you don't feel up to it, straight SID would be fine. Very cute.

That is so cute! I love the bright colors. I'd be tempted to use a variegated thread in primary colors and quilt the triangles either 1/4" inside each triangle, or if you are comfortable doing FMQ, you could go corner to corner on the triangles arching a bit towards the center then back to the other corner. Another thought, you could do straight or squiggly lines that meet in the center and spread out towards the edge, like rays of the sun. FYI - squiggly lines are very forgiving! :)

This is a pinwheel quilt I made last year when I was just getting back into quilting again. I wasn't ready to try FMQ at that time so I used my walking foot and stitched arcs beside each seam line.....hopefully you can see in the photo. It made a pretty pattern on the back side and gave some interest to the front.
