I hope this works - I have been having problems loading pictures. These are 2 of the 24 quilts that were in my m-i-l's trunks & chests. As I said in my introduction message, we divided them up among 3 children & 7 grandchildren. Thus each got 2. I took photos of each quilt as a remembrance. I will post another one later of a unique pattern.

They are beautiful, she was one talented lady. I am glad everyone is apprec iating this wondeful gift
You also did a good job posting them. Look forward to seeing more |
Josie,
What a treasure you have there. Beautiful! We did basically the same thing after we lost our parents. I love wrapping up in a quilt my Mama made. |
My MIL was a quilter who won so many contests that she stopped having hers judged so others would have a chance to win. She joked one time that when she died, her children wouldn't fight over the money, like so many other children, they would fight over the division of the quilts! Luckily, we carried on her lagacy of love and divided them equally. Such wonderful memories. In fact, it is because of her love of quilting that I decided to learn.

Julie, Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. It does my heart good to see her love of quilting survived her. :)

Some confusion; these aren't pics of my m-i-l's quilts; I only shared a story about my late m-i-l. these quilts are beautiful, though.

Those quilts are a treasure. I know how you feel, after my mom died, I got one she did and one she had of my grandmothers. My brothers each also got one of grandmas, and we enjoy having the legacy.
