I designed this in 2002. It teaches seven colors, five shapes, classification, and vocabulary, among other things. And it's 36" square--perfect for dragging around and hauling to the doctor's office. A brochure explaining just how to use it educationally goes with it. I've made about 14 and only have one left. There are five Friendship Star centers all ready to go, and I organzied all the log cabins blocks today to discover there are 62 left--two more than I need to finish those five quilts! Happy dance. I just cut blue lattice and borders, so I'll finish them in the months to come.

A friend bought it, along with a book, for her first grandchild arriving in June.

What a clever idea! Kids soak of knowledge from whatever is around them, and if it happens to be your quilt, so much the better!

I am impressed! I was thinking I SPY quilts were cute, but this is totally precious. Good for you!

Ingenious, and pretty to boot!

You just amaze me with all you do!!
That's not an easy thing to do, either!! Amaze me, that is....

I love your choice of fabrics and in fact I have most of those fabrics in my stash!

Oh, how cute! I've always loved that top center fabric, too.

Thanks for your kind words. One mom who bought one said her son drove his Hot Wheels around it--finding roads every where. It was actually for his little sister. Another mom used it for a small table cover for her three kids.

I had a few in a local quilt shop and sold three then. I haven't sold any in a while, so it was nice. It paid for the four fly masks I just bought for the horses. :D

I am so glad to see that you are making a little money with your quilting. I do not know if you have any of these in your area but we place quilts in some of the shops around here that are what I call "Foo Foo" shops. I have one store that has a very nice posh baby selection that I take baby quilts to. I have another store that caters to Southern things and I take Ole Miss and Southern Styles to, and another store that has elegant stuff in it for the home that a lot of home decorators visit and I take more intricate quilts to. They are all pretty well local and I just drop them off and tell them what I have to have for them and within a week I get a call to tell me to come and pick up my money. They sell if for whatever they want and I get what I asked for the quilt. I make a fair amount of money doing this. I also do embroidery so I place a lot of those things there as well and its the same story, I just collect the money amount I asked for and they sell fast around here.

That's wonderful c2! It sound like a great arrangement. There's nothing really like that here. The quilt shop owner had just opened, so wanted extra stuff. He sold several copies of my book too. But he'd forget what % we agreed on and forgot to tell me things sold--he's a nice guy, but I decided to take the things out after awhile. I have things on my website. Nothing has ever sold directly from it, but it's great to be able to send folks there to see what's available.
