The measurements for this cover are for the type picutred with supplies needed.

Book measures 10 inches tall by 15 length (opened)

1. cut these 3 items 10 x 15 inches:
a. backing fabric
b. heat and bond lite
c. batting

2. Fuse heat and bond to wrong side of backing fabric
set aside and let cool before removing paper.

3. Cut top fabric. 12x25 inches.

4. I place book in the center of front fabric and trace with blue chaulk, do both sides, inside and out. That will help you center your quilt sandwich later on.

5. Fold fabric cover fabric in half and mark fold line or use chaulk. This establishes front cover for embellishing.

6. Pin the 10x15 quilt sandwich you made to wrong side of journal cover. Use lines to line up.Press. Pin as needed for quilting

On front of journal cover, add embellishments, those you have to quilt down. Leave beads, etc. for later. Quilt the book cover. (within blue lines)

7, Hem 12" edges of front Journal cover.

8. DIAGRAM 2 fold backwards on either side, right sides together and stitch.
AT THIS POINT I FLIP IT ALL OUT AND SLIP BOOK IN TO SEE HOW IT FITS. IT SHOULD BE SNUG ENOUGH SO THAT YOU HAVE TO BEND THE BACK COVER TO SLIP IT IN.

9. The hand sewing is actually done just like it shows in diagram (3).

10. Slip book in and you are done. Embellish. MORE PICTURES TO COME.
