do you use a muslin, kona or a white on white pattern? I want to make a modern quilt with bright colors but there will be a good bit of white and didn't know what I should use.

I love white on white patterns and use them frequently.

I like white on white. Wish I could find more

I really don't like solids in most quilts, and I purchase white on whites.

I have used a lot of Kona cotton but I'm starting to fall in love with white on white.

love the white one white, but be careful. It is so easy to use the wrong side. I was just ready to send my quilt out to be long-armed when I noticed that two ( not just one! ) pieces were wrong side out. Not terribly noticeable except to me. So Of course, (whatsoever a girl sews, that shall she also rip!) out they came and back in right side out. If you have good light, when you are sewing you shouldn't have any problem though.

While I do like white on whites for traditional patterns and style, I think the modern quilt look is best with kona white or maybe a Moda bella white.
