When buying fabric already cut into strips or squares, how do you prefer them? Several of each one, multiples of each one or each one different? Thanks.

I just did a King D9P and used a lot of April Cornell charm packs. I believe there were 2 of each print in each pack. I liked working with them. But I usually like each piece to be different. If there's one fabric I absolutely love I buy yardage.
Not sure if this helps you though. Bottom line- I like a variety, probably all different. |
I like a wide variety of fabrics, too! Maybe that's why scrappy quilts tend to be favorites of mine.

I like to have a variety the same as sueisallaboutquilts and also if I like certain ones then I'll buy extra yardage of each one.

Are charm packs and jelly rolls always made from a particular collection or do some shops mix and match fabrics from different manufacturers?
|
I am hoping this is a thing of past, but many of these have not been cut accurately. I am told that Anthropology cuts them in their own facility here, not in another country! And that they are true measurements. BaliPops and some others have varied in width by an eighth of an inch which can really throw total quilt measurements off. and can not be cut in half to get true inch and a half strips. Just an FYI. Good luck and happpy quilting.

I love using strips!

Some charm packs are made up from various collections and some are all from a single collection.

I prefer that they all be different and either all coordinate or be totally scrappy.
Including equal amounts of lights and darks would be a plus! :D:D:D |
