I saw an intresting demo at the recent Quilt Festival for making T shirt quilts. The quilter used the fusiable grid for the base.
It was ruled in 1" squares. She cut the pieces, including the sashing, fuised to the base and then folded on line and stitched 1/4". The same grid we used for watercolor quilts. Looked really easy and quick and avoided all the individual backing of pieces.

That sounds really neat. Wish I could have seen it done..

I've used the grid and it is so easy. You can also get grids to make the lone star quilt. I made one for my grandson and it came out perfect. The lone star grid is a little more complicated than the square grid but still fairly easy. My LQS doesn't carry this anymore but I'm sure you can find it online.

I really like the idea of using this method for tshirt quilts! That interfacing is very soft too.
Thank you for sharing this with us :D:D:D
