I experienced a minor miracle today - my old laptop has been crashing, for awhile I could restart it with the Windows startup disk. THen I couldn't even do that - got the message "Hard drive corrupted - can not be repaired". Everyone said there wasn't anything to be done, even DSS who is an IT guy at his work.
DH, who never gives up, bugged me to keep doing things to it - I did something different and it started up again normally!! OMG!!! I quickly ran a registry cleaner as I found out I should have done that when it first started crashing. Now I am afraid to shut it off, lol.. |
Good for you both for not giving up :D:D:D Maybe it will last long enough to get it replaced
|
Yeah, maybe you fixed it somehow?
|
fingers crossed for you.
|
Maybe you need an IT job....
|
glad you fixed your computer
|
Hopefully it's not catching :) :)

Just shows persistence pays off. I hope it continues to work OK.

Leave it on till you can find some disks to transfer all your records to. You can put the non-personal stuff on the Internet, write (or copy and paste) some of them and send them to yourself. Then you will have it all if it does not want to start again.
But do remember (I gotta do this too) BACK UP ALL YOUR STUFF EVERY FEW MONTHS OR SO. |
DHs laptop was doing that. Finally took it in and the repairman said there was so much dust and cat hair in it hat he's surprised it worked at all!!! LOL yeah, took it camping to southern California and Arizona deserts (besides living in the desert) -- I'm not surprised at all about the dust and cat hair.
