I thought quilt lovers would like seeing this quilt. It was in my brother's house when he bought it. .. he didn't want it so he gave it to me. I love the colors and warmth. It has a few places that are frayed, but for the most part is in great condition. It seems to be made of primarily polyester type fabrics.. (I think). I did sew a green flannel stripe around the edges.. it probably destroyed it (think antique road show). It is folded in half vertically and fully covers a queen size bed down to the floor.

Wow... I think the person who made this quilt may have made it as a memory quilt out of the clothing of the person whom passed on. There are so many styles of fabric in here. OR maybe it is just a crazy quilt made from alot of odds and ends. It's too bad they left it there, This is a beautiful and obviously time consuming quilt. I'm happy that another fellow quilter has it though instead of someone who doesn't understand all the work that goes into a quilt. It is in good hands now.

gosh thanks for the welcome. A quilter I know suggested i post a photo of it on a quilt forum. I am not a quilter.. a pianist, but I do hope I will be able to quilt some day.

I love art. I really should give it back to my brother, but he would just sell it. He still insists he doesn't want it tho. I probably will give it back to him in some way. he has cancer and has 5 kids.

It has quite a few religious symbols sewn into it. I'm thinking a church's quilting guild made it for their pastor. I have absolutely no other ideas of where it came from.

I am so happy you thought to post it even though you are not a quilter-not yet anyway. :) It is beautiful and quite a find, so happy you kept it. Until you do become a quilter, stop by and visit with us, more than quilting is shared here.
