There's been so much pillowcase talk lately I've decided to join the group. These are some I've made to send overseas; still working on them. A local postal shop hands out names of soldiers and boxes to fill. They'll ship the box for a minimal fee once it's filled. I always need to put in a pillowcase or two, along with all the other goodies. Our local quilt guild has an annual sew-in, netting about 2,000 pillowcases and over 1,000 filled stockings. Wish I could do more for those soldiers and their families!
The tube method is sooo much fun! |
Oh, I love these! I've made a couple of pillowcases (the tube - no unfinished seams - method) and they really are a lot of fun to make. In fact, I'm making one today out of Minky for a friend of mine. Still trying to find a LQS that is working with the Million Pillowcase Challenge so I can donate to them.

Good for you. Our group makes the Christmas stocking and this year made about 1300. I'll have to ask them about making pillow cases. Thanks for supporting the soldiers.
