I have made a quilted wall hanging 18x24 for my first project. Now I am at a stand still on the border. I plan to use a 1-1/2 border. Is there a web site that will show how to border?

Do you mean border or binding?

I have asked that same question, I don't really know the difference. There is a border in place.

A lot of it depends if you want to make a mitered border (one that looks like a picture frame) or a straight border.

For the straight border you measure the quilt down the CENTER and cut your first border to that dimension. Pin and sew to each side. If there is a slight difference between the middle and the edges, you can distribute the difference (either easing or slightly stretching) over the entire length. For small wallhanging, you shouldn't have that problem. Press the borders.

Now measure down the center of the quilt in the other direction and repeat the steps.

I would recommend that type of border to start.

If your quilt is quilted and ready for the finishing edge then what you want is called binding. I'm sure there are tons of tutorials for that since everybody seems to have some troubles with binding.

The binding is the piece that "binds" the edge of the quilt sandwich which consists of the backing fabric, batting, and top. The border is anything that surrounds the center panel of the top.

There are many ways to bind a quilt and most people use the double fold method. I would also suggest that you look at some tutorials on "binding" It is a bit difficult to explain without pictures or video.
