My second attempt at paper piecing! I wanted to make a table topper for a special and dear friend, the colors and design replicates the design in her chairs at her Florida home. I am so thrilled how it turned out. I think I will try paper piecing again!

The block was called "Rising Sun". It was originally a square block, four blocks equals the full circle, but I only wanted the topper to be round. It was in EQ6 under contemporary pieced - fans. I enlarged the blocks so I would have an 18" circle and omitted the outer pieces. I used looseleaf paper to print out the patterns - it was very easy to tear off after sewing.
