Hi! My name is Annalisa and I'm a college student who is new to the board and relatively new to quilting. I'm making a quilt for Christmas(ish!) for my best friend, and was hoping you guys could give me some advice about how to quilt it. This will be my third quilted quilt (I've tied a few, too), but so far all I have done is SID and straight lines. Thank you!

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture.

Welcome aboard...glad to have you...your colors and pattern are pretty but I am a newbie so I do not have advice on the quilting...

Lovely! Maybe sid is the easiest way to go?

That is beautiful!! What a neat pattern. If it were me--I'd stitch in the ditch or do a simple stipple. Nice work!!

My sister would love the fabric...which line is that?

I have always heard that if you have a lot of straight lines in your quilt top, that a circular/curvy pattern is best for quilting and vice versa if your top has curves, use a straight pattern. So if you follow this line of reasoning, I think a meandering or stippling pattern would be best.

I love the colors and your friend is a very lucky girl!

If you are new you could do a meandering stitch, or if you want to try something harder feathers in the larger rectangles.

Wow! Great job! I love the pattern and fabrics!! I also think a simple stipple or straight lines would look great! I'm a beginner, too!

It's Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow, in the Sunglow color palette.

(That was in response to Tink74, but I hit the wrong reply button, sorry!)
