I am making a double tied fleece throw for my grandson. I want to somehow trace a pattern of the college logo on the throw so I can stitch around it and do some cut out of it so the back fleece shows through. Have any of you put a pattern on fleece and if so how did you do it? The fleece is so soft and not sure how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are ready to get with with for next Christmas. My plans are always great this time of year, but then it's rush, rush, rush in Dec. because I didn't get started in January like I said I would.

I would applique the logo onto the quilt using more of the back fabric...then you aren't weakening the fabric by cutting it away.

I have machine emb. on fleece throws without any problem.

I'd do a raw edge applique by doing your drawing on a water soluble stabilizer. Do a fine zig zag on top of the stabilizer through your logo fabric and throw. The excess fabric for the logo and stabilizer will be cut away after you zig zag. I cut away as much of the stabilizer as I can after it is stitched before I take something wet to remove any stabilizer that may still show.

hadn't thought of that, but I sure think it would work. I've done embroidery on the fleece and used the wash away, always works great, just didn't think of it this time. I knew I could get an answer from you all. Thanks.

Thanks, his name is TC and he's a ragdoll breed. My husband came on him by chance and was offered him free of charge. Which he said his wife loved cats and we now own a purebred, for whatever that means. He's just a pretty neat cat.

I have went to my son's favorite college site and copied and printed their logo, enlarged it and then drew it on freezer paper and pellon and used that as my pattern. If you don't have a printer that works, go to your local copy store, such as Fed Ex, and do it there.
