I love wall hanging's - I have some ideas that I would like to spruce up my walls - my problem is - how do you actually hang them - do you just tack them to the wall - or make a sleeve - I just don't know a good way to hang it so its flat on the wall. Any ideas?

I have done both depending on the wall and quilt!
if I'm going to be changing it a lot I use a sleeve. If it's small and going to stay there for a while I have used pins :)

Before I put the binding on I cut a square of fabric & fold it in half to make a triangle. I put the triangles on the top, back corners of the hanging, add the binding then slip a dowel cut to fit the width into the triangles. Then you can hang it up with a pushpin or 2. I found this method somewhere online- I think a link from Quilter's Cache. I will try to find a picture for you.

Here is one I did- I have used triangles & dowels at the top & bottom of some of my really big hangings.

I make a sleeve....in two pieces. I attach them to the quilt leaving a small space between the two pieces. I use a piece of wood.....aprox. 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" deep and the lenght of the wall hanging. The opening in the sleeve allows you to hang your project...(on a used sewing machine needle)......and it lays flat against the wall. Hope this helps.....

I do the corner method too and depending on the size of the w/h, will add one or two loops so no drooping. So easy to hang small stuff this way.

Have you heard of those 3M hangers that stick to the wall and come off easily? Well that is what I use!! I found ones that are loop and tape and they work awesome!!!

I'm amazed that some of you are using push pins and needles to attach your hangings to the wall! I'd love to see some pictures of how that works on the wall. How do you do it?

Thanks.
