My mother has always been busy working full time as a registered nurse until she was 70 years old, She has a fragile heart and rhumatoid arthritis. She wants to sew but can't sit in a chair and lean over her machine , so I thought I would give her a little project to do, english paper piece hexagons. I gave her some scraps and look........... this is just a few of her shoe boxes full of these flowers. She want me to finish them into a quilt { before she goes to the other side} I don't even know where to start. I might add, everyone of them is dang near perfect!

wow, that is quite a project she's got started! It's going to be beautiful when it's finished. Just start laying them out beside each other until you like what you see and start stitchin! Good Luck and remember if it's to big to do on your own I'd bet there are some ppl on here that would be happy to help you peice some of them together and send em back.

Start one at a time. What a treasure

Fabulous! I would hesitate to make a quilt using the silk ones though.

Wow!!! Your Mom is quite artistic - each flower is like a small mosaic! You gave her scraps and she made something beautiful. Beautiful work.

Fantastic, ask her whether she want you to put them together in a traditional grandmother's garden or if it would be ok to applique them to a background in a modern approach. Either choice will make a beautiful quilt and how precious!
