Default Certain things highlighted as if they were links

Even in my posts and I know I haven't linked anything like that.

So far I have seen scissors and sewing machines. Or maybe I have finally gone off the deep end and its just me.

I am not sure what you are referring to. I have Adblocker running on my computer.

Scissors is highlighted but not sewing machines. It must be some type of advertising.

editted to add, in this post sewing machines came out highlighted!

and now they're not! Crazy!

I presumed it earned the site money if you click on them. I just noticed blouse highlighted on a thread too, but yes scissors and sewing machine always seem to be. In the beginning I thought the person posting had done it and it would click to their pic so was a bit disappointed it's just goes to a general ebay search

When you just hover your mouse over those highlighted words, it says "link added by VigLink". Wikipedia has information about VigLink here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VigLink

From the article, VigLink looks like it's a "in-text advertising and marketing service" that has been added to over 100,000 vBulletin forums and many other sites.

PatriceJ could, and probably will, add more. I don't think it's anything to be concerned over, but better to find out if we're safe than to be sorry (we clicked!).

I have noticed several common words on the forum highlighting, it's not just you.

i don't have anything to do with that. it isn't something i would do.
while they don't worry me, i don't particularly like them, either.

i just ignore them.

Yes, I've seen that, too. I clicked on one once & it was not related to anything to do with sewing. Now I just ignore them.
