Default Curious email from quilting board

This is the second time I have received an email to an email address not associated with this board. It is a big advertisement for "Hello Newly-Engineered 5 Series" which is the Bernina. The words at the end of the email say "This email was sent by: QuiltingBoard.com 909 N. Sepulveda Blvd. El Segundo, CA, 90425, USA. There is no way to unsubscribe to these emails.

Can someone tell me how this happens? Someone sells my email to the folks who advertise for Bernina/quilting board? Is Quilting board partnered with Bernina?

Thanks.

I haven't had this situation. If it goes to an email not associated with this board, I'm not sure how the board could sell it though. Someone else who has that email possibly could.

the QB did not sell their email list.
when you signed up to receive the "digest" emails you left the box checked authorizing emails from affiliates.

so far, bernina and creativebug are the only ones i know of.

look at the bottom of the affiliate emails for unsubscribe instructions.
if there are none, post that here so i can contact tech support.
they will remind bernina to add them.

thanks PatriceJ. I wasn't sure if I was clear enough. I didn't think the quiltingboard was selling my email because it is a completely different one than I use here. There were no unsubscribe instructions, as I stated in my original post. I tried that.

I will attempt to unsubscribe myself from the daily digest since I don't read it anyway (and interestingly have never missed an issue).

Just to be clear - the email came to an email address that is not associated with quilting board. I checked that first thing. And second, there are no unsubscribe instructions.

I received the same email this week as well and this was not the first time. I just assumed it was spam and deleted. If it happens again I'll look at it a little closer.

Mine was not an ad. It was an email. To an email address that quiltingboard does not have. I don't get ads because I use an ad blocker.
