Default log in lost

Why is it that about once a month, I click on the archives at the bottom of the page as I do every day, and the page "loses" my log in?? I am shown as logged in right now at the top of the page, but when I click on the archives for the short list of contents, I have to log in again. Since I have checked the "remember me" box each time, I never remember my password. That means I have to go through the whole process all over again of resetting my password. Anyone else have this issue? I know I am technologically challenged, but I cannot possibly be the only one with this problem.

When you log out the computer removes "cookies". Someone said in the board the Remember me is considered a cookie so it goes bye bye.

I get that, but I am not logging out. Just closing the page. Most of the time it lets me in, just once in awhile it bugs out.

the simple solutions are to
(1) right-click on the archives link and open it in a new tab. that makes it less likely that you will accidentally log out of the board as you navigate from place to place.
(2) remember your password for the times you need it again.

Great idea QuiltnNan! Patrice, I have found it is doing it when I go to the archives page. I think it may have to do with the link from the daily e-mail. I click on the link from the e-mail, and the main page comes up fine, usually. Of course, today it did not. When you go to the archives page not logged in, you don't get the whole menu, and therefore access to everything we normally have as members. Then when you click on a menu item, it keeps asking you to log in or register. So I log in again, and it tells me the user or password is invalid. So instead, I try to register again, and it tells me I am already registered! Oh well...

yet another reason to come straight to the board instead of clicking through from an email.

The first and most important thing to remember is that the emails are not the board.
They are only a link to a smattering of thread links.
They barely scratch the surface of all that's available here.

If you know you want to come to the board often, the emails are a waste of time.
they slow you down.
why wait for an email?

come straight to the board.

When you get to the Quilting Board Home Page to sign in, please remember to wait until the page completes loading to log in. The fields have "hint" text in them as opposed to labels outside them to indicate what should be put in there. When the page has mostly loaded, there is code on the page that will dynamically remove that hint text from the field as soon as the user tries to enter their own text in there.

after you enter your username and password, but BEFORE you click to log in, check the "Remember Me" option.
Also, if your browser offers to save the password, let it do so.
