Default I give up! Uncle! Uncle!

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to post a picture. I used to do it all the time before the board changed to the new format. Now I haven't posted in months and months. I read the help section, and I can never find the tree in a frame icon they're talking about. Does anyone have the patience to walk me through this? I'm feeling pretty dumb right now.

if you cannot find the tree icon, go to settings, general settings, scroll way down, and choose WYSIWYG. be sure to save your settings

I couldn't find the tree either .. If you look at the row of icons on your Quick Reply box you will see a yellow smiley face. Then 2 blue spheres (one with a red X ) Then a square box with something in it. That something is the tree.
I haven't used that one but if you go below the quick reply box there is a blue strip that says "Go Advanced" There is a way to load pictures there. That's what I use. But be sure to reduce the size of the pictures or they won't load.
Hope this helps.

along the top of the reply box are a line of thumbnails...bold, italic, underline, font, size, text color, smiley's, link, unlink, insert image (this is the tree-between unlink &insert video) then wrap quote & spell check...
if you do not have this line of thumbnails send a pm to Patrice- she can go in and (fix) your setting for you- or will tell you how to fix it--
click on tree - if you put your (pointer) over each one it will tell you what it is--
when you click on it a box will come up letting you choose where to search for your picture- click on browse- choose your picture- click on the upload link underneith the box- you will know when your picture is uploaded (you will see it in mini) when your picture shows up you can add more text to the comment box- then just click on post quick reply.

CK - your directions are good for those who have the icons. doghousemom gave great instructions and I will try to find those. The HELP section does not cover everything and it makes it frustrating and when I asked about it I was told it has been gone over and over. Let me look and I will post the help I got for NO icons showing.

doghousemom saved my sanity - here is her HELP - Hope this helps you.
I've never seen or used a toolbar or a "tree" to post pic's, and there IS an easier way.

On the reply screen - first type your reply (you will need to put some text in the box for the reply function to work), under the reply are three blue rectangles. One is "Post quick reply" and the next is "Go advanced".

Once you hit the "go advanced" you will get a different looking screen. Scroll down just a tad and you's see the box with the reply you just typed, scroll down a bit more under Additional Options and you will see a blue rectangle titled "Manage Attachments". Hit that button ... it's a magic window for pictures!!

A new window will appear on top of the reply window. At the top of this new window is a box that says "Browse" under the heading "upload files from your computer". Hit the browse button - another new window will open to allow you to navigate to the file where your photo is stored. Select your photo and click "OK". You'll come back to the "Manage attachments" window. Hit the blue button that says "Upload" and WAIT a few seconds and you will see a line appear that says "Current Attachments" and the name of your file will appear under that. It's a good thing to check the size (in parenthesis) against the list at the bottom of file types and max file-size to make sure your file is the correct size.

If all is well, hit the "close this window" at the top of the manage attachments dialog window. You will come back to your reply screen. under the reply box you'll see a button to "submit reply".

Done!!

This what your quick reply screen looks like if you have full editing enabled. If you don't see this is your quick reply box, follow QuiltnNan's instructions to get full editing capacity.

The picture icon is third from the right.
