Default Mac users Help

I finally found how to do this on my Mac computer and notice others are having problems. Maybe this will help. Bring the picture you want to resize up on your desk top. Click on "tools" then choose "adjust size". Use the PIXEL tab and choose the size you want. 640x480 works great for up loading. Then you need to save the change. I hope this will help someone.

Default MAC users help!

Apparently there are some features that are different for Macs. Like I can't copy a picture with the new jpe ending. New to me, anyway. And apparently pc people can. That would explain why no one responded (before, Patrice gave me the above info and my concern has been sent on to the "team").

If you are a Mac user and have found out how to do something, would you please post it here! I would begin with what I have learned, but who needs a big blank space!

I'm beginning to think that a lot of my problem (besides my advanced age) is that I don't know what the terms mean. Are "tags" really tags? BB code is On, Smilies are On (thought these might be the little faces, but they are "icons"),[IMG] code is On, and HTML code is Off. That is really great information to have, but what do any of them mean?

It could be that I'm just too dumb to learn all this stuff. Hmmm, how about QB for dummies? I love the one for quilting. I'm hoping we "Macs" can help each other.

I am having issues as well! For some reason I can not post a picture on the QB. I have tried it in Safari as well as Firefox but no luck. Hopefully I will figure it out.

If you mean posting a pic, yes it can be done and I got help from another user. She sent me instructions by pm. If you are trying to post pics from iphoto, let me know and I will forward her instructions to you

Please, tell us both! Are you having problems downloading? Or do you download? Thanx ahead of time. Maybe we Mac users can really help each other!

If I see a quilt that I want to save as inspiration I use these keys command, shift and the number 4. The cursor turns into a bullseye . I drag it across the picture and let go and it takes a picture. These are directions for a Mac. I don't know how you would do it for a PC. I am sorry for your loss, I know I love saving pictures too.

I personnally am tired of getting the newsletter and seeing the old stuff time and time again. Opened today and here is this note from craftybear - looked at the date and it is July 2011.

So very sad to lose a large part of my inspiration! I guess I am going to have to go back to saving them into a document/powerpoint. that just gets so large so fast.....and not as easy to sort!

I know I need to resize the pictures and your idea of moving them to desk top, well I don't know how to move pictures to desk top???? Sorry for being such a dummy, but have no one to ask and this board has been so great in the past....

If you want to see the very latest threads on the Board as they come in, go to the HOME page, scroll all the way down to the bottom and in the dark brown bar there is the option for ARCHIVES
Click on that. You will see all the sections of the Board, Main, Pictures, Recipes, etc.
Click on a section and there is a list of the latest threads, from newest (#1) to later ones. The color changes on that title after you have opened the thread. A great way to read only the newest topics on the Board!

Do you want to copy a picture from the Board to your own computer for inspiration?
1. Put your cursor arrow on the picture from the Board you want to copy
2. Hold down the Command key on your keyboard (it has the little Apple on it) and at the same time RIGHT click
3. A menu comes up giving several options, you want to SAVE IMAGE AS . . .
4. Another menu comes up giving you a chance to name the image highlighted in light blue. Give it a name you recognize.
It will also ask where you want to save the picture, I always choose Desktop . . then I can drag it to my Quilting folder. It will save the image as a .jpg file on your desktop. .jpg files are small and move very quickly so this is fast.
Give it a try
