No, you are not able to place a comment with your subscription to a thread.

Thanks for verifying...been doing so much reading on this new board, I'm forgetting some things I have read.

How do I?

How do I save a thread that I want to go back too?

Look on top at the tool bar that says, "Thread tools". Click on it and it sayson the bottom line, subscribe to this thread. Do so. Now to find it, you go all the way up to the dark brown tool bar, where it says welcome. Click on Settings, now it opens a different window. From here you click subscriptions, click on it again. Your last posting or thread you have subscribe to, should be on the top.

I hope I did explain it understandable for you. I'm still figuring out things myself, as so many others here too. Hang on in there, it all takes time and a little bit more patience.

Oh jeeze, I was all confused. I was like "now why would anybody need to save a piece of thread and then go back to it?" I need more coffee :-)

How do I bookmark a thread that I wish to return to later, like one that has a pattern or a tutorial?

this is a good question. I would like to know the answer.
