Getting to the boards thru a link....virus??

It seems these past few days whenever I try to get to the QB by using a link that is sent to my email account from the QB from a thread that I posted a comment on, my anti virus software blocks me from going back to view the thread saying a virus. Is this happening to anybody else?

I use trendmirco titanium and it won't allow me to click on a link from my email. It does this to keep my email address from being transferred. I can go to any site as long as I don't try to click through my email.

I just tried something, I came on the QB and viewed a page then copied the address bar at the top of the QB page and pasted it to my "compose" page in my email and sent it to myself and when I tried to go back to the QB using the link from the address bar my anti virus blocked it again.

hmmm, I saved the link to the board in my Favorites and always come in that way.

It depends on the anti virus program you use. Some block all clickable links that come through email. I use a free gmail account for all quilting related sites so it doesn't matter if my email address is transferred.

This is also the way I come onto the site. My anti virus is McAfee and it does NOT like this site. Constantly blocking items. Don't know if it is ads or what.

When I first got on the board I just Googled Quilting Board. After registering, I added to my favorites. It usually bypasses everything. I have yet to get a virus warning. Only time I get a virus warning is when I try to click onto an older link once in awhile.

Might know I just posted a comment and now have gotten 3 threats. Think Qb may have a situation.

I have been having the same problem! sometimes I get lucky and get through before the warning pops up and sometimes I can not post even if I do. Very frustrating to say the least! I have run every malware and anti virus program I have (I use Avast) and still not change.

we are virus free.

If you know you want to come to the board often, the emails are a waste of time.

they slow you down.
why wait for an email?

If you know you want to come to the board often, then going through google is a waste of time.

why take all those extra steps?

You never need those emails to connect to the board.

Just come straight to http://www.quiltingboard.com

If you like starting with the sample list of links, go to the Resources tab.
Make sure to keep exploring, though, so you don't miss any of the good stuff. :-) The Archive link leads to lists of threads in reverse order - newest first.
The Home tab is the starting point to get to everything.

You can add it to your browser favorites/bookmarks, put a shortcut on your desktop, or (if you are a total QB junkie like me) you can make it your home page.

Try using the direct route.
You might find you like it better. :-)
