Getting Rid of the Ad's

My husband did some upgrades on my very slow computer to speed things up and now I am getting ads on the QB. Someone had posted how to eliminate them a while ago and I followed the directions (or link). I'd sure like to get rid of these things again.

Can someone help me? Or tell me where to go find the info?

THANKS!

Deb

I am not bothered by Ads but having said that, now I get the voice of a wireless phone commercial. I can mute my sound but the moment I move my mouse, it's talking again!!!

Same here. It has worked very well for me. Good luck to you, it can be very frustrating.

Here's a third vote for downloading a free adblocker app. I don't miss those ads at all!

My son -AKA-my computer Guru has Mozilla Firefox on mine and I have not seen any ads on any links since he installed it. It is a free download and it is safe.

I have Mozilla Firefox on mine, too. My son-in -law put it on for me. How to I get the free ad blocker?

I use Chrome, and free AVG and AdAware (make sure AdAware is from Lavasoft or you will install more problems. If you search for Ad Aware bogus programs will show up, and you may install malware on your pc. I think Chrome has a built in pop-up-stopper. That may be what your husband did, when it looks like a legitimate site and there is a big arrow to "download now" it is not the right download. They often have PC Fixer programs attached. You can go to your control panel to remove them.

I mean, he may have been looking for a program to remove ads and clicked "download now" arrow, when you really have to look for the legitimate link. Often it looks like it is legit but it is a whole different program.

That pop up ad is really annoying, but it does disappear after a few minutes. You would have thought that the stationary ads along the sides and top would be enough.

I don't get any ads.
