You can follow the directions for resizing pictures here:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/qb-help...g-t166655.html

Or you can pull the manual out for you camera and change the setting on your camara so the file sizes aren't so large when it takes the picture, which is what I did so I don't have to worry about resizing the file size of my photo. You only need such high resolution if you are planning on printing your pictures out. For sharing them on line you can change the setting to a much smaller file size (you are reducing the number of pixels per picture to something like 800 x whatever)

I use irfanview. It's super easy with this software. The software is free and easy to download. Just put irfanview in you search and you'll find it.

Hi Normabeth, I don't know what op system you have, but I have windows xp. Once I have downloaded the photo to my computer, I right click on it, and choose resize photo, and then I choose the smallest size.... when you go to download the photo on this site, make sure you choose the one that has (small) in brackets after it... your original size picture will still be in your pictures on your computer as well. Hope this helps.

What I do is on my camera I have a sony, I reduce the resolution. Mine has 12dpi, 10dpi, and 6dpi. I use the lowest setting(6). O therwise you will have to alter the size on the computer by compressing the file which takes longer than pressing a button on your camera. Took me a while to figure out I could just change the actual settings on my camera. This makes the files smaller and less likely that you have to resize them on the computer.

We use the following, simple, easy and free:

don't forget to right click with your mouse once you have the download completed on your screen.............. to create a shortcut to your desktop - then you have easy access, when you want to resize your picture.

Just click on the red "download" tab to start.
