How to upload a photo into a thread??

I tried but it keeps saying upload failed. I have a MacBook Air? I tried the attachment link but it keeps saying upload failed? Is there a step by step guide somewhere on this site? Thank you

The help board has some very helpful stickied threads:

It sounds like you are almost there especially if you've found the upload button.

For me and my system, the problem is I'm using an old school digital camera and the file size of the pictures are too large. The 5mb size quoted seams to be for all possible attachments, and the magic number is more like 1kb.

My camera/software doesn't have options so I go to this site (no affiliation) to reduce my file size:
https://www.reduceimages.com/
I simply select their defaults click to reduce, click to download from there, then add to my post here.

I had the same problem. I know how to use the feature and have always been successful until yesterday. I think something else is going on with the site.

In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html

Actually, recently, I had some trouble posting pictures that the file size was under 2MB, but still could not get them to post.

I don't remember if I resized or compressed them. I use "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I can do either resized or compressed when I chose to "Edit Picture"

Good luck, I’ve given up.

I take all my photos to Ribbit, a free editing site and even if you don't use the editing functions first, when you Save, choose 1500 in the first size box and when you bring them back here they will post every time.

I'm having trouble today too, and I've always posted photos without a problem. When I go to "Choose Photo," the screen doesn't go to my desktop so I can make my choice. Nothing happens.

if you are on something other than a PC, check the threads with tips shared by users of Mac and mobile devices.
i recommend a file size less than 1MB if possible.
