Not working
Why is the archive page not working? I find going to that page is the easiest way to access new posts.
|
the bottom menu bar must have been changed and caught a bug.
it's a holiday weekend here, in the US. it will probably get fixed early next week. |
The bar hasn’t been there in weeks, as that is how I used to access it as well. Now I just use the New Posts, as I presumed it was an update and wasn’t coming back. 🙄
|
Ha! I've never scrolled all the way down to even read those choices. Hmmmm.
|
I miss the archive too. Easiest way to view new posts. Miss it!

Let's me see the new threads only. If I want to see that thread again, then I either subscribe to it, or post to it. Sure hope the problem gets resolved! |
I miss the archive. You can't see all the posts unless you go there!!!
|
Thanks for letting me know. I'll submit a bug report.

The bug has been filed and will be in the next site release. The release date is not set yet.

Can you please give us any insights as to how soon? ... before Christmas? ... months away? or? I've really been missing this archive link as an easy access point and sure hope that the release date is sooner, not later! Otherwise, I feel that I may give up on trying to follow the QB happenings. THANK YOU! |

I hasn't been working long before the Thanksgiving week, Maybe since October. That is how I always get on the QB. Then I check out main personal diaries or whatever.
|
Totally agree. This new... or at least new to me... set up is awful! Would much rather go to Archives than to try to figure this mess out. Wonder who decided this was a good idea?

When you say "filed" and "next" this gives me the feelings that this may be a very long time before the bug is fixed.

Our tech team is unable to get it in tomorrows release. They will do their best to get it in the next site update in approximately 2 weeks. I have let them know that this feature is important and should be prioritized.
Thank you for our understanding. -Tyson |
This might seem like a stupid question, but why not just go to "New Posts" ? That is what I do and it is so easy to see everything that was posted since I last checked.
|
@SueZQ from MN the reason we like the Archive button is it lists posts by sub board in chronological order of the original post. Posts we’ve already seen are one color, and posts we haven’t seen are in another color. The New Posts button shows you all posts, whether you’ve already seen the thread or not, that have new posts in them. I personally don’t like clicking into threads I’ve already read. If I want to follow a thread, I subscribe to it, and I can click the User CP button in the upper left and see my subscribed threads and know which ones have new posts in them (those are bolded). I click the little symbol to the left of the thread title, and it takes me to the first response I haven’t seen. Using the User CP and Archive buttons, I can look at only new posts that I’m interested in, without having to scroll through pages of responses I’ve already seen. It’s a huge time saver. Right now I’m not seeing much of the board’s new activity because I don’t like scrolling through a bunch of stuff I’ve already seen. Maybe I’m lazy, but this is how I interact with the board and I don’t want to spend time doing 8t another way. I hope this gets repaired soon.

WeSing ... Exactly my thoughts!!!
You couldn't have said it better. Like you, if I want to follow a thread, then I either post to it or subscribe. Otherwise, I skip on by and never see the thread again. Me too, hoping that the fix comes sooner, rather than later. Happy New Year, Everyone! |
Hello - Just wanted to give an update. The bug for this issue has been filed. I have contacted our tech team to escalate the priority for a sooner release.

Perhaps you could give us a further update, further to your Tech Team query. It's been months since the link has worked, and as you have read here and on the current thread, many do appreciate the ability to use the Archives link as their main point of entry to the QB. Thanks again. |

WeSing ... It's been four months now, since this discussion started. I'm about ready to give yup, thinking that when they said it had been "filed" that it was filed in the proverbial round bin (aka garbage)!!
Just by chance that I caught this one tonight, as I am not on here very much now, because of the Archive link being MIA. Having it would help me get back in the swing of things ... as I am sure it would for others, too. |
It is not good that this issue hasn’t been addressed by now, and yes many regulars aren’t wasting their time to scroll through just to see what they can find. I am greatly discouraged.
|
Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA for a release for this bug. In the meantime, I would suggest using the "new post" feature as a workaround.
I greatly apologize for the inconvenience. |
It’s fixed! Thank you!
|
Thank you! I had to sign out on my IPAD and back into my account and find it now on the bottom left, looks different than I was used to but very happy to have it back!

and Thank You to IBtyen, for your part in helping to get this resolved. Good to have the Archives back. I know I am late in discovering this, but it seems the auto-notice of a new post is not working, as I never got the update when these latest posts were made (and for other threads too). Anyone have any suggestions as to how I might get this resolved? Thanks! **delighted** to have the Archives link working again, as I can now be back more regularly! |
I can verify that the instant email notification is working ( I receive email updates for this thread)
I would guess that it has something to do with your email provider. You may have to check your spam folder or whitelist our domain.

Haven't been checking what/when, but this thread was one that stuck out when I noticed the new comments after the Archive problem got sorted out. There's been nothing in my spam folder for Quilting Board posts. And yes, I already had the QB threads on auto-accept when coming into my system. Although, I did go back and check both the spam and my old emails, just in case I had missed the arrival. But, no luck! Guess I should flag some of my posts and vigilantly check to see if I do get the auto-updates when someone else posts to the thread. Thanks again! |
