Old posts.

Does it seem there is a lot of old post being revived on the board lately? Are that many members doing a search for all topics? Odd when usually post from just a few days old were buried many pages back.

It could be that more are using the search feature to look for something and not realizing that they are commenting on a topic that is older :)

I thought it was just me. Just doesn't seem like as many posts are here right now. It's hibernation time though. Holidays are over. Now we hunker down and wait for spring.

About a month ago, Murphy1 made a suggestion to use the archive feature to identify the post you have not read. I've started doing this and every day I find anywhere from 25 to 50 post I have not read in the Main section. There are even more in the other sections. I have really enjoyed using this feature of the new board format.

I find it very distracting when I'm looking for new posts and there are so many old posts on the first few pages. I can understand using the feature of looking for unread threads to see what you missed, but I wish it wouldn't moved them up front when someone comments.

I also us archive, lots of new post each day, and they turn colors after you have read them. Never did figure out the new board, love archive :)

new comments to "old" threads add something that many will find interesting. it wouldn't be fair to keep them buried just because some members might not want to revisit a thread they've already looked at one time.
