Pictures from my new Nikon Cool Pic camera won't download here :)

I got a new camera - yippie but my pics won't upload/download here. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

Thanks for any help.

Probably because the pictures are too big. You have resize them so that they don't have too much memory in them. I used Graphic converter and take the pictures from my cameral (3-4 mgs down to 100-200 kb) save them on my computer then open Graphic converter and resize, save, them post them here.

Too big would be my guess also. For posting pictures anywhere on the internet, resizing them to less than 1 mb is best. This helps with the site's storage capacity and also makes it easier for those who are still accessing the internet via dial-up.

Look in your camera's menu and select the lowest resolution you can if you are taking pictures for posting pictures online. If you are taking pictures for prints you want higher resolution but for viewing online we won't notice the difference and your pictures will load with no trouble.

I have an Auction setting on my Fuji camera. I use it for online picture posting.

I have a Cool Pix S6100. At the default resolution, the pictures are too big. I follow these instructions:

As I also take photos of other things, I don't want to change the resolution in the camera.

What I did so I didnt have to reduce my size is I changed the megapixel level on the camera menu to a lower pixel instead of 12mp I did 6mp, saves time for quick pics

I use the free program WIMP and resize pics I post on QB and send via email to people.

You probably have too big a file. Reduce the largest side to no bigger than 2000 pixels and if you are using a bicubic method of sizing, the other side will automatically follow. You should save the photo as a tiff or gif file to upload to the web and a jpeg file if you want it to be easily printed from a number of sites or programs. Not all formats are recognised by different photo processing programs but those three are fairly universal. Good luck next time.
P.S. make sure you duplicate the image before you reduce it so that you still have the original intact. Find where your program tells you the size of the image and work from there.

Thank you all for your help, I d/led the Picasa program and was able to export them into a smaller size! I couldn't figure out how to do it on my camera.
