Pop ups

Aren't you guys just tired of all the junk (meaning advertising) that shows up on the quilt site. Why? And how do you get rid of it ? 👗

Pinkiris 12-02-2015 12:40 PM

I don't get it!

QuiltnNan 12-02-2015 12:45 PM

are you on a PC or a different type of device?

barbrn1128 12-02-2015 01:55 PM

You can get 'ad block' for ipad. I do not use Safari--instead I use "Apollo" browser and it has ad block...it was free from the app store. Like it much better than Safari. Google browser is now being offered as d/l, but my Apollo already has Google search as option.

I'm on a regular desk computer, but I don't get the ads.

I am on a pc and have Adblock (free app) on google chrome. Good luck finding a program that works with your system!

I agree about the free ad block app. Helps tremendously even with Safari.

Use Ad Blocker. Many of us use this on this site.

I use Ipad. I set the block. No problems here. Very easy to blame a w bsite but the user has the responsibility to learn how settings work on their device.

I don't have the issue with my PC but do with my (android) tablet. Just haven't taken the time to search for the ad blocker for the tablet and deal with it when reading from it.

Wow sandygir that's pretty harsh. I use an iPad (older version) and I DO have the block enabled in settings. It doesn't matter. Sometimes there is so much junk when I'm on QB that I just give up and close out. I however am not blaming the QB. I do however question the effectiveness of the iPad iOS and/the browser! Besides, not everyone is as savvy as you apparently are. A great majority of people on QB are older that 55. This means they didn't grow up in the computer world. Some have an easier time than others keeping up with technology.

I put ad block on my iPad and it helped tremendously.

We had to install an ad-blocker program because the flicker of animated ads was driving me crazy. Those who do not see the advertising must also have this type of sanity saver.
