Popup Ads
 

Hello All,

I am aware of your concern (and annoyance!) over some new popup ads that you are seeing and I wanted to address what's going on.

Due to current world events, ad revenue has declined dramatically and therefore we had to increase the number of ads on the site.

Please be aware that in order for quiltingboard to be open and operational, we must serve ads.

I'm working with our business and product team to see if we can come up with a solution that makes your visit to the forums a bit more enjoyable.

Also, know that this change was made without notice to Patrice.

I'll send another update once I have more info.

I haven't been bothered by pop up's yet, but the adds that jump back and forth are very distracting and make the site unenjoyable. I will have to get an ad blocker so I won't see any ads. It's too bad because I know that is how the QB stays open. But enough is enough and the jumping ads are just too much. I could live with just plain ads that don't shift between different pictures.

I'm curious to know if your ad blocker has helped. I really am fed up with all the ads on this board, realizing that in order to be free, some ads are necessary. But every time I go to a new message, I spent most of my time Xing out of ads and very little time reading content.
