Posting Pictures with IPhone

I have a question to ask about a quilt and want to post pictures from my iPhone. Is it possible to do that and if so, where do I find directions?
Thank you

I can't find a direct way to attach the photo from my phone either. The forum software can't seem to find attachments that are on phone galleries. I take the picture and send it to my email, then wait till I can get to my computer to upload. If anyone knows a better way, I'd like to know how....

This is the way I do it. It works well for me.

You might go look at QB Help Center section.

I still don't understand how to post pictures from my iPhone. Once I send to email as JNCT14 said, what do I do then?
Thanks

I am thinking that if you use the mobile version of the quilting board you won't be able to do it but if you use the full version you will see all the icons above the box that you are typing in, like I am seeing now, while I am typing.

On my iPad, I have a camera roll of all my pictures. Is there something like that on your iPhone? With my pictures in my camera roll, I start a thread and in the icons above where I type there is a little tree. I click on the little tree and follow the prompts to put in my picture.

Tartan,
I will take some pictures and give that a try and see how it goes.
Thanks

I guess I again don't understand what to do. I took a picture of a quilt block. It is now in my photos. I started a new thread to post a practice picture. I found the tree and clicked on it and it asks for a url only the picture in my photos doesn't have a url, so not sure what to do. Deleted the new thread.

Tartan 01-11-2016 01:32 PM

try posting it in this thread. When I click on the little tree these are my choices that come up Filetype:jpg, jpeg, png, gif and I just click on choose photo, it goes to my photo gallery, I click on photo and click upload.

Joan in AK 01-11-2016 01:42 PM

Okay I will try again. When I go to the photo no file type choice comes up, so the iPhone must work differently. Someone above mention that they send the picture to their email and then upload. I might try that.

Joan in AK 01-11-2016 01:50 PM

I sent the photo to my email but not sure what to do next. Maybe someone who mentioned this above will chime in with the steps.

Thank you Tartan for your help.

Practice posting of pictures. Was able to send a picture to my email - open my email on the computer -save the photo to Google Drive and get a link to copy so I could paste it here.

suern3 01-11-2016 04:17 PM

Joan, What I do is send picture to my email, then down load it to my documents or pictures file on computer. When you click on tree icon as Tartan said, it should take you to your files then you should be able to upload from your files. You may be given the option to reduce the size of the file which I usually do to a medium size.

Joan in AK 01-11-2016 04:39 PM

Thank you Suern3. I can do that, but is the way I did it through Google drive okay as well?

Thank You!

Both look good. Use the method that you are most comfortable with, I'd say and have fun.

I learned from a friend to do these steps.
1. Take a picture with my Iphone.
2. open "photos" app on the phone
3. Open the cameral roll.
4. Click select at the top right of the screen and click the picture you want to use.
5. now click "add to" at the bottom of the screen and move the picture to a album that you see when you click add to.
6. plug your phone into your computer and find your phone under the file exploder.
7. Click on the folder that says its your phone.
8. search in that folder using a *. my search field is in the top right corner of that screen.
9. Find the picture you want to put on here and move the picture to the pictures folder on the computer.
10. thats all. Now you can upload your picture on here by finding it in your pictures folder

open up QB on your devices and upload from there. I do it from my Iphone and Ipad. Too many steps otherwise. 10? If the photo is too large to post, i resize it using Simple Resizer APP.

You go to Safari or wherever your internet is on the device. Log in to QB just like you do on a PC.

I just posted a picture directly from my iPhone without using a computer. This worked on an iPhone 6s, so I cannot vouch for other versions. Here is how:

You must be in the "full" version of quiltingboard, not the mobile version.
Open a new thread (I don't know how to make this work in 'Replies')Scroll lower on the page
Under "Additional options", tap "manage attachments"
A new page will open. Under "Upload files from your computer," tap "choose file"
A box will pop up offering three options. Tap "photo library"
Select the album where your picture is located
Tap the picture you want to upload
Your phone should now say "1 photo" next to the "choose file"--look to the right and tap "Upload"
Wait for the file to upload. It may take a moment or two, depending on your server speed. The screen may say "Uploading File(s)- Please Wait"--you really need to wait. If "Upload of file failed" appears, your server may have timed out. You should have te rotating "wait" thingy while it is loading.
If successful, the screen should now have under "Current attachments" something like "image.jpeg" in blue letters
do a light down scroll with your finger
Tap on the far right icon-- it looks like two overlapping sheets of paper
A bunch of overlapping windows appear--Tap on the window where you were posting your new thread
Type out your post! :). You will notice at the bottom of te screen in that "Manage Attachments" box, the file name of your picture appears.
Finish posting as normal.
This sounds like a lot, but can be done in under two minutes, not counting one-finger typing.
