Problems with this site
First of all I know this isn't the correct place to post this. Can't access the right site. Anyway my back arrow (top left corner) keeps blacking out. Can only return to main page by pressing the Home button. This happens about 75% of the time. I also get lots of virus warnings. This only happens on this site. Had my computer checked & was told that it was this site, nothing I'm doing. Any tips.

I was having that problem for about two weeks and It is gone now. Not sure what it was.

I have had this same problem. I also have had this pop up several times while trying to access the QB site.

I too have had issues with trying to use the back button. 90 percent of the time I have to go to the home page a start again.

I haven't had those problems, but in the past few days when I'm typing a response sometimes my keyboard strokes aren't recorded, and I have to type very slowly -- like one stroke every 10 seconds. When that happens, I also can't scroll the page. I've just allowed IE11 to install, so wondered if there might be a compatibility issue.
|
I've never had any of those problems. I also wonder if it's a browser issue. I use Mozilla Firefox with AdBlock Plus.

AdBlocker is also available as a free add-on to Google Chrome. added note: anybody who still uses the AOL browser should switch to another. it's the one browser i know for sure causes a lot of problems here. |
I use Firefox, and have just downloaded the AdBlocker Plus add-in that you recommended to me PatriceJ. So far, no further pop-ups this afternoon. I haven't had the back arrow problem.
Belfrybat, I did have the problem with the slow strokes & when I looked up to the address bar, it had changed to autopartswarehousei.com so I closed out a few hours ago, and am now typing with no problems. |
I was having the same thing, but worse. I never had any problems until about 2 weeks ago, then AVAST started notifying me that this site had malware. I have two virus programs installed, so how did that happen? Then, my screen started going black. The minute I touched a key, it would go black. I have been using my DH computer or my tablet to look at QB. I took my computer in to the computer repair shop so that he could run diagnostics. He said I have OVER 60 viruses!! How did that happen with several virus programs installed? He wants to charge me $175 to clean it up. There have been so many people with problems, there has to be something going on....

I had problems recently, only on the whole computer. My Office Depot computer fixer suggested I switch from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome. Seems to have helped.

For the last 3 weeks I haven't even been able to even open the newsletter. My virus protection kept telling me it was malware and closing the page. I haven't done anything different before when I could access the newsletter and suddenly last week I could open it again. Curious.....

Sometimes the problem isn't with the site, it's with the anti-virus software. The anti-virus companies keep running lists of adware, malware, spam, viruses, etc., and sometimes the information isn't correct or updated. I had this problem a couple of years ago, a company my employer (a law firm) was doing business with was using some kind of software that not only blocked the law firm's emails, it reported our IP address as malware to all the other anti-virus companies, which in turn blocked all our other e-traffic. It was an absolute nightmare to untangle.
I suspect, since some members are not having problems, that the issue isn't with the site, it's with either the anti-virus software or the browser. |
I'm still having problems with slow typing in the reply window in Private Messages, and occasionally in regular reply. It started after IE 11 installed, but the techs at Microsoft can't find a problem. Of course it doesn't happen when I'm online with them. It just took me 5 minutes to type a simple 4 line response in PM, and this reply window was working fine until this last sentence.
---I’ve given up and moved to my Word program to finish typing this response – then I’ll copy and paste.--- When the typing really slows down, the words are underlined in red until they are complete. So I wonder if IE 11 has an automatic spell checker installed that is not playing well with this site? It works fine on the two other sites I am active on. It is only this site. I know I can switch to another browser but I really don’t want to switch back and forth just to be able to communicate here. If anyone has any idea of what might be going on, I’d appreciate some tips. Thanks. |
